Knight's Path is made by Jesus in Pixels. This page explains what happens with your information when you use the Knight's Path iPhone app or this website. The short version: we don't collect your name, email or any account information, and we don't show ads. We use Google Firebase Analytics to see, in aggregate, which parts of the app people use.

The app

  • No account. You don't sign up or log in.
  • Your progress stays on your phone. Your days completed, streak, the battle you chose, your highlights, saved verses and settings are stored only on your device. We can't see them and we don't receive them.
  • No ads and no tracking across other apps. The app has no advertising and doesn't use your advertising identifier (IDFA).
  • Anonymous usage analytics. See "Analytics" below.
  • Widgets. The widgets read your progress from storage shared between the app and its widget on your device. Nothing leaves your phone.

Analytics

The app uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand how it is used so we can improve it. It records things like which screens are opened, when a daily quest is completed, which Bible chapters are read, which wallpapers are saved and basic technical information (app version, iOS version, device model, and approximate country derived from your IP address). It does this using a random identifier generated for the app on your device. It is not linked to your name, email or any account, and it doesn't use your advertising identifier.

You can turn it off at any time in the app, in Settings › Privacy › Share anonymous usage. Google processes this data on our behalf; you can read more in Google's policy on how it uses data.

Permissions the app may ask for

  • Notifications. If you turn on the daily reminder, the app schedules a local notification on your device at the time you choose. It is not sent from a server, and you can turn it off at any time in the app or in iOS Settings.
  • Photos (add only). If you tap "Save to Photos" on a wallpaper, iOS asks permission to add that image to your photo library. The app can only add the image. It cannot see or read your photos.

Stories and videos

Some stories may stream a video from the internet. When that happens, your device makes a normal request to the server that hosts the video, which can see technical information such as your IP address, as with any website. We don't link it to you.

This website

jesusinpixels.com is a simple website. It doesn't use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. Like any website, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (for example IP address and pages requested) for security and to keep the site running.

Children

The app doesn't collect personal information such as names or emails from anyone, including children under 13, and doesn't use advertising.

Scripture

Bible text in the app is from the World English Bible, which is in the public domain.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. If we ever change how the app handles data, we will update this page before the change takes effect.
